A graveside service for Marvin Carter will be at 11:30 am Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Clear Lake Cemetery in the Trichell Community, LA with Rev. George Pookkattu officiating.
Marvin Carter, 80 years of age and a resident of Clarence, LA, passed away Friday, August 12, 2016 in Alexandria, LA. He was born July 24, 1936 to Pete and Birdie Carter in St. Maurice, LA. He worked for many years as a millwright and always provided for his family. He enjoyed watching sports but his greatest love was for his grandchildren. He always enjoyed traveling and vacationing with his family. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Frederick Carter; brothers, J.C. Carter and Ray Carter; as well as his parents.
He is survived by three sons, Michael Carter of Natchitoches, LA, David Carter and wife Hootie of Port Vincent, LA, and Jimbo Carter and wife Michelle of Denham Springs, LA, a daughter, Sandra Carter Gourdon and husband David of Port Vincent, LA; grandchildren, Heath Carter and wife Jennifer, Zeb Carter and wife Amanda, Heather Carter and husband Wes, Jenna Pulley and husband Jake, Taylor Carter and wife Bridgette, Bailey Vicknair and her husband Chris, Kayla Couvillion and her husband Brett, Cody Carter and his wife Lindsey, Zack Carter, and Kayla Duhon; great grandchildren, Dalton Carter, Michael Carter, Madelyn Carter, Burkley Vicknair, Gracie Carter, Raven Carter, Eli Carter, Jase Carter, Kennedy Carter, Emma Carter, Nolan Carter, Hadley Carter, Haley Carter, Keely Pulley, Kai Pulley, Delilah Carter, Bryce Ballard, Corey Cameron, Cody Cameron, and Micah Braden; a god-daughter, Kelley Cameron and her husband Terry; a brother, Vernon Carter; as well as a large extended family.
