Funeral services for Andrew 'Andy' Jenkins Jr. will be held on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA with Dr. John Foster officiating. Interment will follow the service at Warren Cemetery in Fisher, LA. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Monday, September 12, 2016 at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA.
Mr. Andrew Jenkins Jr., 69, of Natchitoches, LA, died September 10, 2016, at his home in Natchitoches, LA. He was born June 07, 1947 in Shreveport, LA. He loved the sport of golf and fishing, but his greatest joy in life was spending time with his grandchildren. Andy served his country by joining the U.S. Navy as a young man; a fact that he was very proud of. He was also a member of the Ajax Masonic Grand Lodge #325 and Phoenix Lodge #38. He took great pride in the gardens that he raised, as well as his woodworking projects. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his loving wife, Helen Isgitt Jenkins of Natchitoches, LA; his children, Andrew J. Jenkins, III of Alexandria, LA, Angela R. Jenkins of Robeline, LA, and Allison Jenkins of Georgia; four grandchildren, Lane Durr, Caleb Laird, Emma Jenkins, and Nicholes Palmer; his mother, Vera Moore of Natchitoches, LA; his sisters, Judy Lilly of Marthaville, LA, Carolyn McCarthy of Spring, TX. Sandra Vinz of Bossier City, LA, and Bobbie Jenkins of Tyler, TX; his brother, Jack Jenkins of Natchitoches, LA; close family friend, Janet Palmer; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, A.J. Jenkins, Sr.; his brothers, Albert Jenkins, Jim Jenkins, and Dewell Jenkins; and his sister, Dora Baker.
Those honored to be pallbearers will be Ted Singletary, J.W. Johnson, Lee Comer, Fernando Montelongo, Donny Wyatt, and Jeed Chadprachong. Members of Ajax Masonic Grand Lodge #325 will serve as honorary pallbearers.
