Rosaline Lacaze

Rosaline “Posie” Lacaze, 92, a long-time resident of Houston, went to be with the Lord on September 11, 2016. Born March 21, 1924, in Derry, LA, to Edmond and Rosaline Gallien, Posie married James Vernice Lacaze in 1939 and started a family shortly thereafter. After relocating several times throughout Louisiana and Texas for work, the couple moved to Houston to be close to their daughters. Posie was a spirited woman who had a casual approach to life and was known for sharing her opinions and having a good time. She enjoyed reading, cooking, sewing and spending time with her family. She is preceded in death by her husband, Vernice Lacaze, daughter, Rose Marie Rowe, her parents (Edmond and Rosaline Gallien), and three sisters (Opal Perkins, Belle Malone and Neva Tapley). She is survived by her daughter, Judith Reed, granddaughter, Cynthia John and husband Peter of Woodstock, CT, grandson, William F. Reed, Jr. and wife Janlyn of Katy, TX, great-grandson Nathan John and one brother, Warren Gallien. Services will be held Friday, September 16, at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home Chapel. Viewing will begin at noon and services will begin at 2PM with graveside following at Fern Park Cemetery.
