Mary M O'Neal

Funeral services for Mary M. O'Neal will be held at Montgomery Baptist Church in Montgomery, LA at 10:00 am on Monday, October 17, 2016 with Rev. Ray Teal officiating. Interment will follow at Mars Hill Cemetery in Montgomery, LA. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Montgomery Baptist Church on Sunday, October 16, 2016. Mary, 86, of Montgomery, LA, went to be with her Lord on October 14, 2016 after a brief illness. She was born July 15, 1930 in Montgomery, LA. She graduated from Montgomery High School and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Montgomery She worked as a clerk and manager of Milam Store for 20 years in Montgomery until it closed. She then became the owner and operator of O'Neal Grocery Store until she retired ten years later. She also belonged to God's Recycled Angels Choir in Pineville, LA for 21 years. She enjoyed spending time in her yard and raising flowers. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Gene T. O'Neal; her parents, Ray and Florence Laprarie McGuire; her brother, Willie Allen McGuire; nephew, Michael 'Mike' McGuire; niece, Ginger Chavez; mother and father-in-law, Lela Anderson and L.G. O'Neal; and one brother-in-law, Tonie Cleary. She is survived by her nieces, Aleene Hale and husband Mark of Montgomery, LA and Christy Woods and husband Barry of Rayne, LA; nephews, Shelby Ray McGuire and wife Anjena of Hineston, LA, Dennis Wayne McGuire and wife Ngyen of Montgomery, LA, James Steven McGuire and wife Tonya of Pollock, LA; a sister-in-law, Betty Hawthorne of Montgomery, LA; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins on the McGuire side of the family. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Carlene Cleary of Milan, TN; her brother-in-law, Bruce B. O'Neal of Golden Meadow, LA; nephews Donnie Perot, Timothy O'Neal, and Bruce O'Neal, Jr.; nieces Sheree Barrilleaux, Michelle Pelpham, Christine O'Neal, and Robin O'Neal; and numerous other nieces, nephews, and cousins on the O'Neal side of the family. Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Shelby McGuire, Dennis MCGuire, Steve MCGuire, Make Hale, Tracy Jones, Jeffrey Jones, Dennis 'Bubba' McGuire, and Jaremy Lynn.
