Brian Harp, 34, of Robeline, LA, passed away October 25, 2016, in Winnfield, LA. He was born January 11, 1982, in Charleston, MO. Happy, lovable, fun to be around, energetic: these are all words and phrases that anyone who knew Brian would use to describe him. He loved to make people laugh and always tried to help in any way that he could. Though this is what many saw on the outside, those who were closest to him saw the struggles that he faced every day. He never wanted people around him to feel saddened or lonely, because, in truth, he never wanted others to face what he faced as an inward battle. Brian loved his family and friends dearly. He loved his wife and children. No act could be committed that would take that love away. He would turn to building things with his hands or play music on his guitar to escape as best he could; but truthfully, he never was able to overcome the depression that he fought on a normal basis. If he were here today to speak, Brian would encourage everyone to tell those that they love how much they love them. He would tell you to never take a friend for granted. He would tell you to seek help and not fight alone if you battle sadness or depression. And, ultimately, he would tell you he loved you and would try, with the best of his ability, to make you smile.
He was preceded in death by his father, David Henry; his grandparents, Louise Carter Harp and Don Harp; and his cousin, Joey Harp.
He is survived by his wife, Tanya Miller Harp; his children, Jadin Harp, Dylan Miller, Micah Christensen, and Brianna Broadway; his mother, Connie Harp Harralson; a special nephew, DJ Harp; his brother, Don Harp; his step-sisters, Crystal Hernandez and Perfida Harralson; his step-brother, James Harralson; his step-grandparents, Ned and Bea Harralson; his mother-in-law, Catherine Miller; and his nieces, Kyra Cruise and Chassidy Powell.
