Passed away peacefully on November 3, 2016 at Natchitoches Community Care Nursing Home in Natchitoches, Louisiana surrounded by family. He was born February 5, 1932 on Oakland Plantation in Bermuda, Louisiana.
Mayo graduated from Northwestern State University in Business Administration. Upon graduation he served in the US Air force and was stationed in Japan. In 1963 he married Annette Berry of Bastrop. In 1966 he went to work for Eastern Airlines where he retired in 1990.
He enjoyed traveling, genealogy and visiting with friends and family. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Mr. Prud’homme was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Annette Berry Prud’homme, his parents James Alphonse Prud’homme, II and Rosalie Lucile Keator Prud’homme, his brothers James Alphonse Prud’homme, III and Kenneth Andrew Prud’homme, Sr.
He is survived by his daughter, Julie Prud’homme Barker and husband Philippe of San Leon, Texas; his son, Mayo K. Prud’homme Jr. (Tad) and wife Judith of Youngsville, Louisiana; granddaughters, Megan and Ashley Prud’homme and Annette Demartinos; sister Vivian Prud’homme Duggan and husband Ted; as well as a host of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Memorial services for Mr. Prud’homme will be held at St. Charles Borromeo Chapel in Bermuda, Louisiana at 2pm on November 12, 2016.
He will be laid to rest next to his loving wife in a graveside service to be held at Red Hill Cemetery in Mer Rouge, Louisiana at 1pm on November 13, 2016.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude or St. Charles Borromeo Chapel in Bermuda, Louisiana, 1490 Hwy 119, Natchez, LA 71456 in memory of Mayo Keator Prud’homme.
