Ruth Marie Wallace Peek, age 87, of Natchitoches, and formerly of Shongaloo, Louisiana and Alief, Texas, passed away peacefully Monday, November 14th, at home in Natchitoches with her family by her side. The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM to 3:00 PM Thursday, November 17th, 2016 at First United Methodist Church of Natchitoches, followed by a funeral service at 3:30 PM, Rev. Doug Cain officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Memory Lawn. Arrangements are being handled by Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home. Mrs. Peek was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, community volunteer, entrepreneur, and welcoming friend. She considered her children as her life’s greatest accomplishment. She enjoyed being a member of the Eastern Star and served as Grand Worthy Matron. She was a devoted member of the First United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school and women’s bible study. Professionally, she served others as a beautician until the age of 80. She will be forever remembered for her dedication and love to her family who cherished her wit and humor as well as her incredible cooking. Mrs. Peek was preceded in death by her husband, Clark Orval Peek; and her parents, Monroe Wallace and Willie Beatrice Carter Wallace, and six siblings. She is survived by her sister, Gladys Godkin of Houston, TX; daughter Kathern Lanell Peek Causey and her husband Nolton Causey, Jr. of Natchitoches; son David Clark Peek and wife Phyllis Peek of Springhill, LA; and son, Leland Dale Peek and wife Debbie Peek of Jamestown, LA. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Lisa Causey Streete and her husband Jon, Dr. LeAnn Causey Boyd and her husband Steven, Crystal Marie Causey, Mandy McClure, Kyle Peek and his wife Denni, Daniel Peek and his wife Jamie, Chase Peek, Carlie Peek, Ryan Peek and his wife Brandi, Nathan Peek, and Jeremy Emery; and her great-grandchildren, Jolie Kathern and Jon Barton Streete, Landon Sturdivant, Lilly Ann and Lacey Marie Boyd, Isabella McClure, Morgan and Adalyn Peek, Leigh-Ella Peek, and Peyshance Higginbotham. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First United Methodist Church of Natchitoches. The family wishes to thank Betty Daniels, faithful friend and caregiver, along with Legacy Hospice., LA, died November 14, 2016, at LA, born April 23, 1929.
