A graveside service for Marty Dock Powell, Sr. will be at 11 am Tuesday, January 17, 2017, at Bellwood Cemetery in Bellwood, LA with Bro. Mark Kennemore officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 8 pm on Monday, January 16, 2017 at Central Baptist Church located at 1820 Central Loop, Robeline, LA, 71469.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Trace Kennemore, Jack Hunley, Schaff Hunley, Boyd Kennemore, Reese Powell, Henry Hunley, Brandon Kennemore, Mark Kennemore, Eddie Perritt, Ernie Kennemore and Chad Brazil.
Marty, 41 years of age and a resident of Robeline passed away Friday, January 13, 2017. He was born December 16, 1975 to Mike & Sherry Powell in Natchitoches, LA. Marty worked as a law enforcement officer for Little River County in Ashdown, AR as well as Desoto Parish. He also worked moving mobile homes and maintenance work for shutdowns. He was devoted to his family and loved spending time with them. A true Louisiana outdoorsmen, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding his Harley Davidson. He was loved by all that knew him and will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
He was preceded in death by his son, Matthew Dock Powell; and his grandparents, Charlie and Eura Powell, and Boyd and Elbe Perritt.
He is survived by his parents, Mike and Sherry Powell of Robeline; children, Marshall Powell and wife Destiny of Niceville, FL, Bentley Luman of Provencal, LA, Dock and Mary Powell of Frierson, LA, Jax and Zachary Powell of Robeline, LA; grandchildren, Jocelyn Warren and Madison Powell of Marthaville, and Aubree Powell of Niceville, FL; brother, Michael Powell, Jr.; as well as a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, niece and friends.
