Melissa Jo "Cookie" Dedon

Melissa “Cookie” Dedon was born Aug. 15, 1956, to James and Shelby Dedon of Natchitoches. Melissa entered her eternal life Feb. 13, 2017, in Natchitoches. Preceding her in death are her parents, James Dedon of Franklinton and Shelby Dedon of Natchitoches; and her brother, Eddie Bynog of Natchitoches. Melissa was an avid animal lover whom never met a stranger. She leaves to cherish her memory: her son, Jeffery Rodgers of Florida; daughter, Necey Rodgers of Texas, brothers, Charles “Gator” Dedon of Robeline and Joseph Dedon Sr. (Nancy) of Natchitoches; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. A memorial service in her honor will be at Westside Baptist Church, Natchitoches, Friday, Feb. 24 from 5-7 p.m.
