Ledore “Sonny” Gallien was born November 9, 1932, and died Friday, March 3, 2017, after a brief illness at the age of 84. A graveside ceremony will be held at the Oak Grove Methodist Church Cemetery at 2 PM on Saturday, March 11, 2017. A time of visitation will be held from 11 AM to 1 PM at Blanchard-St. Denis that same day.
A lifelong resident of Natchitoches, LA, Mr. Gallien graduated from Natchitoches High School and Northwestern State College. He served in the Army in the 1950’s, with a tour of duty in Germany and then at Fort Sill. He was an accountant for some 35 years at the Southern Cotton Oil Company which was later bought out by Archer Daniels Midland. He retired from there in 1994.
Preceding him in death was his father, Wilbon Gallien, his mother, Ferry Boren Gallien Conerly, as well as his Step-sister, Judy Brister.
Those left to treasure his memories are his Step-brother, William Conerly (Jane) of Pineville; step-sister, Billie Cook; nieces Rebecca C. Lewis (Gabe) of Lafayette, Kathy Brister of Atlanta, GA; Kim Brister of San Antonio, TX and Peggy Brister of San Francisco, CA., one nephew, Dr. W. Colin Conerly(Megan) of Gainesville, FL and numerous grand-nephews and grand-nieces.
