John Kenneth Rawls passed away on Thursday, April 27th, 2017 in Shreveport, LA. He was born March 18, 1948, to the late N.L. Rawls and Georgia Eason Rawls. He was a country boy through-and-through, he lived for hunting and fishing, he loved his family and friends, and he loved his pets. He was known for his honesty and workmanship as a very respected painter. Everyone saw him as a quiet and private person, yet a kind and gentle soul. He had a generous heart; his door was always open to family and friends, no one was ever turned away. He often spoke of his mornings at the Marthaville store with Rebecca and the crew and having the job of turning on the gas pumps for the day. He was a Marthaville legend that will always be remembered, leaving a legacy that will never be forgotten.
He is survived by his wife, Pat Rawls; his sons, Timothy Lopez and John Rawls and fiancé Becky Rafferty; his grandson, Jude Rawls; his sister, Janelle Rawls Davis and husband Charles, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, N.L. Rawls and Georgia Eason Rawls; and his best friend and K-9 son, Jake Rawls.
Those honored to be pallbearers will be Mark Peters, Chris Frazier, Art Eason, Charlie Davis, Jason Singletary, and Keith Birdwell. Honorary pallbearers will be the Marthaville store coffee crew.
Special thanks to Willis-Knighton North Hospital Staff, Dr.Zibari, Corey Smith, Katie McBride, and his private nurses, his nieces, Kathy and Jill Peters.
