Thelton Raymond Salter, Sr.

Visitation for Thelton Raymond Salter, Sr. will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 30, 2017 at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 30 immediately following visitation. Thelton was 79 years old when he passed away on April 28, 2017. He was born August 12, 1937 in Natchitoches, LA. His positive attitude was loved and admired by all. When being in his presence, you couldn’t help but smile. He was a great example of how to always look on the bright side. He had a sense of humor that was infectious and laughed every day of his life. Thelton was a loving father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife Claire Dixon Salter of Natchitoches, LA; his son, Thelton Raymond Salter, Jr. and wife Catherine, of Brookhaven, MS; daughters, Elizabeth Salter Hawkins of Colorado Springs, CO, and Cammie Salter Khoury and husband Paul of Shreveport, LA; his grandchildren, Jared Salter, Caitie Salter, Emily Hawkins, Corbin Hawkins, Mitchell and Miranda Hawkins, Jake and Candice Ford, and Joseph Khoury; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Jefferson Salter and Theo Prothro Salter; one brother, David Salter; and one sister, Irma Jean Salter. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude's Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or a charity of your choice.
