A mass of Christian burial for Louis Sylvan Sers, Jr. will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, May 10, 2017, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Melrose, LA, with Fr. Charlie Ray officiating. Entombment will follow at St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery in Melrose, LA. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm with a recitation of the Rosary at 11:30 am on Wednesday, May 10, 2017, at Blanchard - St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA. Louis Sers, 89, of Natchitoches, LA, passed away on May 05, 2017, at Natchitoches Regional Medical Center in Natchitoches, LA. He was born December 08, 1927 in Montrose, LA. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Vivian Sers; his parents, Louis A. Sers, Sr. and Frances Sarpy Sers; his grandson, Matthew; four sisters, Adele Cloutier, Genevia LeMelle, Frances Balthazar, and Mary Margaret Rachal; and four brothers, Gilbert Sers, Sr., Raymond Sers, Bernard Sers, and Norah Sers. He is survived by his son, LTC (Ret) Joseph S. Sers (Soni) of Natchitoches, LA; his granddaughter, Stephanie A. Sers of Natchitoches; two sisters, Daisy Conant of Gardenia, CA and Patricia Moran (Noble) of Shreveport, LA; two brothers, Sylvester Sers of Natchitoches, LA and Anthony "Tony" Sers (Doris) of Albuquerque, NM; and a host of nieces, nephews, godchildren and extended family.
