Brian's earlier years were spent helping with the family owned business, Bernard's Dairy. He enjoyed running the milk route, telling tales and letting people believe anything because everyone knew that's what "them Bernard's" did. Throughout his life, Brian was an extremely hard worker. Growing up he always worked hard helping his dad build fences and tend to livestock. He and his brother Barry later co-owned Natchitoches Wood Preserving for 15 years. The later years of his life he enjoyed spending time with his lifelong friends, the late Randy Weaver, Gerald Cobb, and Don Mitchell. Brian also enjoyed spending time with his family. He was definitely one-of-a-kind and will be missed dearly.
