Donald L. Vercher

A Mass of Christian burial for Mr. Donald Lee Vercher will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Cloutierville, LA with Reverend James Foster officiating. Interment will follow in Cloutierville Catholic Cemetery. The Vercher family will receive friends at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home from 5 pm until 9 pm on Monday, September 14, 2009. A Rosary Service will be held at 7:00 pm on Monday with Deacon Joe Peltier officiating. Mr. Donald Vercher, 79 of Cloutierville, passed away Friday, September 11, 2009. He was born July 20, 1930 to the late Albert Vercher and Annetta Rachal Vercher of Cloutierville, LA. Don worked as an automotive and industrial parts salesman for 59 years. He was an active member of the Cloutierville Fire District 1 Fire Department and a faithful member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Cloutierville. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 52 years, Clara (Poche’) Vercher; a son, Stephen Donald Vercher and his wife Teresa; a daughter Sandra Kay Waters and her husband Robert; grandchildren, Mandy C. Vercher, Brandi L. Vercher, Corey D. Vercher and Margaux M. Waters; great grandchildren, Dillon Vercher and Kiera J. Beechem; brothers in law, Lynn D. Poche’ and Elmer L. Poche’; sister in law, Pauline P. Rachal. Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Charles N. Roge, Randy Roge, David Rachal, Kenny Gallien, Corey D. Vercher and Robert Waters. Honorary pallbearers will be Dillon Vercher, Andrew Poche’ and members of the Cloutierville Fire District 1 Fire Department.
