Effie Ree Dorotha Prather

A funeral service for Effie Ree Prather will be 2 pm on Friday, September 25, 2009 at the Montgomery United Pentecostal Church with Rev. Donald Givens, Rev. Paul Grace and Scott Tilton officiating. Interment will follow at Union Grove Cemetery in Montgomery, LA under the direction of Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the church from 6 pm to 10 pm on Thursday, September 24, 2009. Mrs. Prather, 82 of Montgomery, passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2009. She was born September 18, 1927 to the late Calvin O. Barnes and the late Lois Brister Barnes. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Elzie Prather; son, Jimmy Dale Prather; and a brother Leonard Barnes. She is survived by two daughters, Joyce Ann Tilton and her husband Cecil and Janice Elois Prather Wyatt and her husband Kenneth; son, Terry Wayne Prather and his wife Glenda; brothers, Arvel Barnes and Melvin Barnes; ten grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Randall Wyatt, Anthony Wyatt, Brad Tilton, Scott Tilton, Michael Waxley and Burt Lavespere.
