Geraldine Wagley Martin, 85, of Natchitoches, LA, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 16, 2017. She was the oldest child born to Monroe and Gladys (Box) Wagley on June 16, 1932, in Natchitoches.
Geraldine attended Natchitoches High School and Northwestern State College. She married James Harvey Martin, her loving husband of 51 years, on November 21, 1951. They were life-long members of Westside Baptist Church in Natchitoches where they married and raised their family. She enjoyed serving in the church as a WMU leader and Sunday School teacher of all ages while being a devoted mother and homemaker.
Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents, Monroe and Gladys Wagley; a husband, James Harvey Martin; infant sister, Linda Wagley; and one infant granddaughter.
She is survived by one son, Christopher Kent Martin of Natchitoches; three daughters, Beth Galliano and husband Peter of Denham Springs; Brenda Tullos and husband Bobby of Pineville; and Janet Blouin and husband, Jacques of Madisonville.
Geraldine is also survived by two sisters, Mattie Ann Murray of Florien and Lou Prothro of Natchitoches; two brothers, Sonny Wagley of Natchitoches and Ronnie Wagley of Shreveport; two special nieces, Gayle Werle and husband Ron and Christine Corrales and husband Steve all of California.
She also had twelve grandchildren, Kayne Martin (Dellie), Autumn Martin(Stuart Lillas) fiance’, Kirk Martin, Rebecca Galliano Nation (Aaron), Ashleigh Galliano Thomas (James), Neal Tullos (Jodi), Kyle Tullos (Amber), Andrew Tullos (Mallory), Brett Blouin (Lindsay), Joshua Blouin, Jared Blouin, and Lindsay Blouin; and ten great-grandchildren, Maxim Martin, Dylan Torres, Zachary and Maggie Nation, Easton and Brooks Thomas, Jack, Eli, Amelia, and Tate Tullos.
Services for Geraldine Martin will begin at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 21, 2017, at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA, with Dr. Cliff Stewart of Calvary Baptist Church, Alexandria, LA, officiating. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. until time of service.
Pallbearers honored to serve will be Mrs. Martin’s grandsons: Kayne Martin, Kirk Martin, Neal Tullos, Kyle Tullos, Andrew Tullos, Brett Blouin, Joshua Blouin, and Jared Blouin. Honorary pallbearers will be Aaron Nation, James Thomas, Stuart Lillas, and Steve Corrales.
