She loved to see the students grow and 'want to read' and be eager to come to the library. She was a long time member of First Baptist Church and thoroughly enjoyed singing in the choir. When the choir director visited her in the hospital she always asked eagerly "What is the choir special this Sunday?" Christy is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, William Sterling Gass and Ruby Goins Gass and paternal grandparents, Joseph Andrew Gibson, Sr. and Annie Marie Ringer Gibson. Survivors besides her parents are two sisters, Tammy Suzanne Lloid and husband, Greg, and Judy Lynn Kavanagh and husband, Gene. Christy also had a special place in her heart for her niece, Alyssa Jane Lloid, who was born on her birthday.
