Robert "Bob" Michael Rushing

Robert “Bob” Michael Rushing, 86, of Kingwood, Texas, was born July 21, 1931 in Ashland Louisiana, to Michael Dewey and Gladys Lay Rushing. He joined his Parents and siblings Monk, Murray, and Patty Jean with the Lord at 4:15 pm Saturday August 5, 2017. Robert is survived by his Wife Ora Joy Rushing and his two Sons Michael and Larry Rushing. He is also survived by a Daughter-in-Law Kimberly Lane Rushing and two Grandchildren Robert and Kristen Rushing along with 13 other nieces and nephews. Robert and Ora Joy were married December 26, 1953. Robert served in the Air Force for one enlistment period. Robert graduated from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston Louisiana with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. Robert worked for the Austin Company for 36 years, retired, and was called back to work for another 4 years as a contractor. Robert was a skilled auto mechanic and enjoyed watching football. He was a true family man. A visitation will be held at the Blanchard- St. Denis Funeral Home from 5 to 7 pm on August 9, 2017, located at 848 Keyser in Natchitoches Louisiana 71457. A service to honor his life will be at 10 am on Thursday, August 10, 2017 in the chapel of Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest in Hathorne Cemetery at 1399 Highway 155, Ashland, Louisiana 71002 on August 10, 2017.
