A visitation for Willie S. “Bill” Johnson will be from 1 pm until 4 pm on Tuesday, August 8, 2017, at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home.
Bill, 60 years of age, passed away Sunday, August 6, 2017. He was born March 23, 1957, in Thibodaux, LA to Willie Johnson, Sr. and Ruby Powell Johnson. He was preceded in death by his son, Jared Johnson.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Waugh Johnson; son, Jesse Johnson and his wife Naomi; daughter, Tiffany Cole; sisters, Betty Spain and Nancy Powell; grandchildren, Kaytie, Allyssa and Ivalee Cole; and his dog, Bear.
Bill was an electrical engineer in the petro-chem industry for over 40 years. The last 25 were spent consulting and working directly for Duke Energy. He worked many places, from Alaska to deep water rigs; he was willing to travel anywhere in order to keep his team of workers together. Bill played as hard as he worked. Whether riding his Harley Davidson, going mud riding, or running cows; he lived every day to the fullest and with the greatest of passion. A great provider for his family, he always seemed to put others needs ahead of his own. He truly was a one of a kind person and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
