Melissa Fletcher Dunn, 45, a native of Montgomery, Louisiana and a resident of Natchitoches, Louisiana passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2017. Melissa was a devoted teacher who touched numerous lives in her many years of teaching. Her students considered her not only their teacher but mentor and friend. She was loved by all who were lucky enough to have known her. Melissa was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, and aunt.
Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation which will be held at Westside Baptist Church in Natchitoches, Louisiana on Friday, September 15th from 5-8 pm and resume on Saturday, September 16th from 8 am until the time of service at 11 am at Hargis Baptist Church in Montgomery, Louisiana. Pastors Dr. Calvin Phelps, Tom Smith, and Steve McCallister will officiate. Burial will follow in Hargis Cemetery.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Jeff Dunn; their two daughters, Kinslee and Sarah, and her fiancé Stephen Burkhalter; Her mother, Nell Fletcher; sisters, Kristi Deen and husband John, Amanda Moore and husband Brandon; and nieces Paisley and Hadley Moore; Her father and mother in law, Leslie Dunn Sr. and Myrna; sister-in-law, Cindy Dunn Parker; brother-in-law, Bubba Dunn and wife, Cindy; Her nephews, Jacob Parker and Quentin Dunn; Her niece, Katie Dunn Carney and husband Lonnie and their children Haley, Landon, and Adalynn.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Fletcher and her grandparents, Herbert and Doris Box and Gary and Irma Fletcher.
Pall Bearers will be Patrick Box, Stephen Burkhalter, Jason Deen, Bubba Dunn, Joel Fletcher, and Jacob Parker
Honorary Pall Bearers will Kenneth Deen, David Jackson, Mark Jackson, Steve Jackson, and Leslie Dunn, Sr.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), Hargis Baptist Church Cemetery fund, or Westside Baptist Church.
