Peggy LaCaze Gongre, 76, a resident of Natchitoches, Louisiana passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2017. Peggy was not only a devoted mother and aunt, she was also devoted to molding the lives of children through her work. She began as a Pre-K paraprofessional in Caddo Parish and as a childcare provider in daycare centers in Natchitoches. Upon her retirement she began to keep infants in her home. Her inspirational work with children of all ages has had an impact far beyond their years in her care. Ms. Peggy, as she was known by many, was compassionate, loving, and genuine to everyone around her. She was loved by all who were blessed enough to have known her. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation which will be held at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral home in Natchitoches, Louisiana on Friday, September 22nd from 5-9 pm and resume on Saturday, September 23rd from 8 am until the time of service at 2 pm in the chapel. Pastor Sam Chance and Sister Linda Chance will officiate. Burial will follow in Memory Lawn Cemetery. Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Carla Gongre; nephews Craig George (Leeanne) and Dewayne George (Lisa); Siblings, Joe LaCaze, Wallace LaCaze and Julia Swanner; self proclaimed grandchildren, Brooklynn Sanders, Alexis Sanders, and Crislee Daugherty; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Gongre; her parents, Mary Kelly and Bill LaCaze, Jr.; siblings Robert LaCaze, Louise George, Jessie Lacaze, and Mike LaCaze. Pall Bearers will be John Abraham, Fred Carter, Mike Cimino, John Daugherty, Trevor George, and Benny Mobley.
