Ruth LaCour Sarpy

Funeral service for Ruth LaCour Sarpy will be held 11 AM Thursday, October 15, 2009 in St. Anthony Catholic Church with Rev. Jamie Medina officiating. Burial will be in Memory Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home of Natchitoches, La. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 14, 2009 from 6 PM until 9 PM with a Rosary at 7 PM in the funeral home. Mrs. Sarpy, 88, of Natchitoches, La., died Saturday, October 10, 2009, in her residence at Natchitoches, La. Mrs. Sarpy was a native of Natchitoches, La. She was retired from Natchitoches Parish Police Jury and formerly was a radio talk show hostess. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lomma Peter Sarpy, Sr.; parents, Valcour LaCour and Rosa LenaMetoyer LaCour. She is survived by daughter, Rose Mary Sarpy of Natchitoches, LA; son, Lomma P. Sarpy, Jr. and wife Patricia of Derry, LA; two grandchildren, Eric Sarpy, Sr. and wife Tonya and Kimberly Rogers and husband Jonathan Rogers, Sr.; eight great grandchildren, Jonathan Rogers, Jr., Eric Sarpy, Jr., Rae'Gan Rogers, Sir Zion Rogers, Ariyonna Sarpy, JerMichael Davis, Calvin Davis, and LaMarcus Davis; sister, Mary Clotilda LaCour Metoyer and husband Andrew Metoyer, Sr. of Hemet, CA.; aunt, Nora Lee Metoyer of Natchitoches, La.. Pallbearers will be Anthony Christophe, James Sarpy, Jr., Louis Ray Metoyer, Gerald Conant, Peter Roque, Jr., and Stanley Roque.
