James R. Edwards

A service to honor the life of Mr. James R. Edwards will be at 2 pm Sunday, October 1, 2017, in the chapel of Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 10 am until service time on October 1st at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. Roy Edwards, 72 years of age, passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2017, in Natchitoches, LA. He was born April 20, 1945, in Natchitoches to Necie Viola Masters Edwards and Joseph Houston Edwards. Roy was a carpenter by trade and there was nothing he couldn’t build. He proudly served in the LA National Guard for many years. Roy was truly a one of a kind man and will be dearly missed by all that knew him. He is preceded in death by his parents; and his two sisters, Shelby Dedon and Essie Cedars. He is survived by his children, James Ray Edwards and wife Audrey of Cloutierville and Rhonda Barbin and husband Shannon of Boothville, LA; siblings, Joseph “Bo” Edwards and wife Betsy, Marion Edwards and wife Patricia, Mickal Edwards and wife Brenda, and David Edwards and wife Reba. He was blessed with four grandchildren, Jeremy Edwards, Austin Barbin, Jared Barbin, and Kaytlin Barbin as well as two great-grandchildren, Remylin Edwards and Aiden Barbin.
