James Bernard Cannon

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. James Bernard Cannon will be at 11 am Thursday, October 12, 2017, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Cloutierville with Rev. Christian Ogbonna serving as celebrant. Burial will follow at Cloutierville Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 9 pm on Wednesday, October 11, 2017, at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 7:30 pm on the 11th in the funeral home chapel. James Bernard Cannon, 82 years of age and a resident of Cloutierville, passed away Monday, October 9, 2017, with his family by his side. He was born on June 11, 1935, in New Orleans, LA. He proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He worked at Exchange Bank for 31 years and was the owner of Cannon’s Pecan and Fish Market in Cloutierville. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially with family and friends. He will be dearly missed but always remembered as loving husband, daddy, and paw-paw. He is survived by his wife, Betty Rachal Cannon; children, Debra St. Andry and husband Allen, Jimmy Cannon and wife Sarah, Pam Jahnke and husband Dale, and Matt Cannon and wife Cecial; as well as his brother Buddy Cannon and wife Betty. He was blessed with 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Cannon and Loney Hazel Vercher Cannon; and a son, Delbert Cannon as well as his sister JoAnn Cannon. Those honored to serve as pallbearers are J.C. Coutee, Troy Cannon, Josh Henderson, Hunter Mulligan, Ricky Beaudion, and Lonzo Harvey. Honorary pallbearers will be Buddy Cannon and Clay Henderson.
