Catherine Texada Moore

Funeral services for Mrs. Catherine Texada Moore will be held Monday, October 19, 2009, at 1 p.m. at the chapel of Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home, 848 Keyser Av, Natchitoches, LA., with Reverend Donald Avery officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Pineville, LA. Mrs. Moore, 99, a resident of Natchitoches, passed away Thursday, October 15, 2009, after a short illness. She was long time member of The First United Methodist of Natchitoches and a member of the United Methodist Women organization. Catherine was retired after many years as a school teacher with the Caddo Parish School System in Shreveport. She and her husband moved to Natchitoches soon after her retirement. She was preceded in death by her husband W. L. Moore, Sr., her parents, Daisy Grissom Texada and Thomas J. Texada, Sr., and her brother Thomas J. Texada, Jr. Catherine was survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Pallbearers will be Ralph Ingram, John Ingram, Tom Texada, Ben Texada, Dick Stalling and Alan Kees. Visitation will be held at the chapel on Sunday, October 18, 2009, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.
