John Richard Brevell, Sr.

John Richard Brevell, Sr. went to be with the Lord on November 9, 2017 at 9:30 am after a brief illness. He was surrounded by family and friends. He was born in Lufkin, TX. on January 11, 1935 to Johnnie Brevell and Viva Whisenant Brevell. He was a resident of Natchitoches, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Lera Oaks and JoAnn Lewis and brother-in-law Weldon Lewis. Left to cherish his memories is his loving wife Bernadine, his sons John Richard Brevell Jr and his wife Sondra, Richard David Hebert and his wife Ronnette, Mike Hebert and his wife Janet, five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and numerous beloved nephews and nieces. John was a retired welder from McDermott Inc. He was a dedicated welder and took pride in his work. He served in the Army and Army Reserves and received a National Defense Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He was a awesome husband, dad, step-dad, grandpa, father-in-law, brother, uncle, and friend to all who knew him. John was a humble man with a great big heart. He gave his love freely to those around him. Everyone who knew him loved him. He was “Special” to all of us and will be missed by everyone who knew him. A service of remembrance will be held at 10 am Saturday, November 18, 2017, at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 9 am until 10 am on Saturday the 18th at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home.
