Marvin Daley passed away quietly at home on November 28, 2017 at the age of 84. He was a Colorado native but for the last year and a half he resided in Natchitoches Louisiana with his only daughter, who he referred to as his “favorite daughter.” He was a renowned psychologist, researcher and college educator but was still a friend to everyone he met, especially if they enjoyed jazz music as enthusiastically as he did.
Dr. Daley played collegiate hockey at University of New Mexico and earned money to pay for his degrees and PhD in Psychology by being a drummer for multiple dance and jazz bands in Colorado, New Mexico and Texas. He was kind, charming and many referred to him as a genuinely good man. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Nancy E. Daley in 2004, the love of his life. He always spoke often of missing her wit, charm, intelligence and their hikes in the mountains.
Dr. Daley is survived by his daughter and husband, Kathleen and Eddie Perritt, their children, Rocky and Emily Perritt with children Chelsea and Claire, Alicia and Dale Carr with children Luci and Tripp, and Trent Perritt; his son S. Kevin Daley; and his son and wife Michael and Lisa Daley, their children Matthew and Christopher; and his dearest friends and “adopted” Colorado family Emmy Midyett, Kirk and Christine McMain.
A service to honor his life will be held at a later date in Colorado Springs, CO.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to a US Veterans charity.
