Funeral services for Joseph E. Jackson will be held 2 PM Sunday, November 8, 2009 in the Blanchard St. Denis Chapel with Minister Bill Pratt, Rev. Christopher Dew, and Rev. Paul Grace officiating. Burial will be in Provencal Cemetery at Provencal, La. Visitation will be Saturday, November 7, 2009 from 5 PM until 9 PM and on Sunday, November 8, 2009 from 8 AM until service time in the funeral home. Mr. Jackson, 90, of Natchitoches, La., died Friday, November 6, 2009, at Natchitoches Regional Long Term Care Unit in Natchitoches, La. Mr. Jackson was a native of Provencal, La. He was a retired federal civil service employee from Barksdale Air Force Base and a member of the Grand Ecore Church of Christ. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U. S. Army. He was preceded in death by his wife, Belle Goins Dew Jackson; daughter, Shirley Collins; two grandchildren, Robert Perot and Denise Dew and his parents, Eugene Jackson and Ava Hawthorne Jackson. He is survived by one son, Charles R. Dew and wife Betty Dew of Natchitoches, La.; four grandchildren, Dennis W. Dew and wife Sherry of Florien, La., Vicky Davenport of Shreveport, La., Connie J. Brown of Natchitoches, La., Tammy Allen and husband Harry of Niceville, Fl., and several great grandchildren.
