Margaret Mary Caplis Broussard

Margaret Mary (Caplis) Broussard, age 76, of Campti, LA, passed away Saturday, November 7, 2009, at Natchitoches Regional Medical Center in Natchitoches, LA. Arrangements are being handled by Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home Natchitoches, LA, where the family will receive friends from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM Tuesday, November 10, 2009. A rosary service will be held at the Nativity Catholic Church in Campti, LA at 10:30 AM Tuesday, November 10, 2009. The funeral mass will follow the Rosary at Nativity Catholic at 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 10, 2009, with Rev. Louis E. Sklar officiating. Interment will be at Campti Catholic Cemetery in Campti, LA. Mrs. Margaret graduated from St. Vincent’s Academy in Shreveport, LA and attended Webster College in St. Louis, MO. In her earlier years, she was a member of the Nativity Catholic Church for many years, where she served as the director of the choir, and she worked part time with the City Bank at their Campti branch. She enjoyed cooking, being a homemaker, and spending time with her family. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Gus O'Conner Broussard; and her parents, Joseph Edmond Caplis, Sr. and Antoinette Serwich Caplis. She is survived by her brother, Joseph Edmond Caplis, Jr. of Bossier City, LA; three sisters, Antoinette Caplis Mire of Shreveport, LA, Loretta Caplis Roy of Thibodaux, LA, and Helen Caplis Williams of Richardson, TX; three sister-in-law’s, Daisy Broussard Evans of Natchitoches, LA, Mary Broussard of Natchitoches, LA, and Penny Broussard Cox of Tullahoma, TN; and a host of nieces and nephews The family would like to thank the Natchitoches Regional Long Term Care’s staff and Margaret’s physician, Dr. Otis Barnum and his staff. Charitable donations in memory of Mrs. Margaret may be made to the Nativity Catholic Church in Campti, LA and to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, mailed to 4613 Fairfield St. in Metairie, LA 70006.
