Rose Marie Homfeldt Lucky passed away November 7th at home in Natchitoches .
Born December 4, 1926 in Bay Minette, Alabama , Mrs. Lucky spent most of her life in Natchitoches . Mrs. Lucky was a member of the First Baptist Church .
The family will have visitation from 5-7 p.m., Monday, November 9 at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home. The funeral will be November 10 at 1:00p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Natchitoches .
She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Edwin Lucky, Sr., her parents, Franklin William Homfeldt and Etta Wilmoth Shivers Homfeldt Lawney, brothers, Horace Shivers, Earl "Sonny" Shivers, TC Shivers, sisters Vernice Wilson, Eloise Meyers, and Velma Shivers.
She leaves behind her loving family to cherish her memory, her sons, Robert Edwin Lucky, Jr. of New Orleans , Randall Mark Lucky and wife Carol of Shreveport, her daughters, Karen Elizabeth Corkern and husband Ronald, Pamela Bess Hetherwick and husband Tommy, both of Natchitoches .
Mrs. Lucky enjoyed her eight grandchildren, Robert Edwin Lucky, III, Ronald Eston Corkern, III, both of Natchitoches, Lise Margaret Lucky Bras of Manhattan, Kansas, Amy Elizabeth Corkern Scott of Covington, Laura Elizabeth Hetherwick of Baton Rouge, Windsor Thomas Hetherwick of Natchitoches, Matthew Randall Lucky and Joel Edwin Lucky, both of Shreveport and step grandson James Murray Robertson IV of Dallas, Texas.
In addition Mrs. Lucky has two beloved great grandchildren who reside in Manhattan , Kansas , Ana Lise Bras and Jose Joaquin Bras, II.
Mrs. Lucky was an avid gardener, loved to read, but most of all enjoyed spending time and being part of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren lives.
The Lucky children and grandchildren fondly remember Sunday dinners and holiday traditions at the Lucky home where Mrs. Lucky presented a beautiful table and great food was always abundant.
Pallbearers will be Robert Edwin Lucky, III, Ronald Eston Corkern, III, Matthew Randall Lucky, Joel Edwin Lucky, Windsor Thomas Hetherwick, Jr., Dr. Jose Joaquin Bras, Marshall Powell Scott, James Reed Seymour and James Murray Robertson, IV.
Honorary pallbearers will be Sam Friedman, Harry Friedman, Johnny Emmons, Lester Lee, Joe Madden, Luther Lott, Dr. W. A. Bradley, Tom Murchison, Dr. Stephen Wheat, Jim Bob Key, and Steven Crews.
We wish to offer a special thanks to, Christus Schumpert Cancer Center , Dr. Christopher Snead and staff, as well as Hope Hospice, and Dr. Stephen Wheat and staff for all of the love and care they have given our mother during her illness.
