Ernie "Lou" Metoyer

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Ernie “Lou” Metoyer will be at 11 am Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Natchitoches with Rev. John O’Brien serving as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Cloutierville, LA. The family will receive friends from 9 am until 10:30 am at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church located at 911 5th Street, Natchitoches, LA 71457. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 10:30 am on Tuesday the 30th at the church. Mrs. Lou Metoyer, 82 years of age and a resident of Natchitoches, passed away Friday, January 26, 2018, in Natchitoches. She was born on September 16, 1935, to Virginia Metoyer Sarpy and Peter Sarpy in Melrose, LA. Taking care of her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren brought her the most joy. She was a parishioner of St. Anthony and held firm to her trust in her Lord and Savior. She will be dearly missed but always remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was the last surviving sibling that included Beatrice Sylvia (Franklin), Eva Collins (Albert), Merlene Sarpy, Wesley Dubriel (Louise) and Espy Sarpy (Victorine). She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Fred Metoyer; her children, Carolyn Armstrong (Dennis Armstron, Sr.) and Connie Metoyer Shepherd; grandchildren, Christina Washington (late husband Anthony), Dennis Armstrong, Jr., Candace Dorsey (David Dorsey, Jr.), Brittney Armstrong, Brian Metoyer, and Cierra Shepherd; great grandchildren, Helena “Bre” Armstrong, Anthony Washington, Jr., Hailey Dorsey, Aaliyah Davis, and David Dorsey, III; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Brian Metoyer, Nick Beadion, Dennis Armstrong, Jr., Anthony Washington, Jr., Rocky Sylvia and Christopher Sylvia. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Metoyer, Joseph Metoyer, Edward Metoyer, Edgar Metoyer, Ed Metoyer, Vary “Russ” Metoyer,and Cleveland Rachal.
