Funeral Service for Mr. Billy Ray Moore will be 2 p.m. Sunday, December 27, 2009 at Northside Baptist Church in Montgomery, LA with Reverend Brad Webb officiating and Ralph Johnson assisting. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Saturday, December 26, 2009 at the church and again from 12 p.m. until service time Sunday. Mr. Moore, 65 of Montgomery, passed away Thursday, December 24, 2009 at his residence. He was born August 6, 1944 in Coushatta, LA to the late Cleavy Webster “Bill” Moore and late Alice Irene Ott Moore. He was a man dedicated to hard work and was involved in every aspect of the oil and gas industry for over 46 years. He ultimately retired as a consultant. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of over 38 years, Charlotte Cardozier Moore; daughters, Kahnya Paddie and her husband Greg of Montgomery, Marla Colley of Mansfield and Teresa Sims and her husband Billy of Marthaville; sons, Jimmy Ray Moore and his wife Kristie of Aberdeen Scotland and Timmy Moore of Coushatta; 14 grandchildren of which Kole and Kasey Paddie and Lance, Luke and Logan Moore held a very special place in their grandfathers heart; 2 great-grand children; brother, Frank Moore of Many; brother-in-law, Jimmy Cardozier and his wife Rita of Houma; step-mother, Alice Moore of Coushatta. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Monroe McCarty, Wayne Cunningham, T.J. Lashley, Tony Roberts, Jason Chelette, and Jason Edwards. Honorary pallbearers will be Nolan Fitch, Donald G. Kelly, Keenan Kelly, William “Bill” Townsend and T. Taylor Townsend. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Mary Jo Lebrum. The family wanted to extend a very special thanks to Stillwaters Hospice and especially Aleshia McGlothlin who provided such great care to Billy. In lieu of floral tributes a memorial in Billy’s name may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.
