Velma Elizabeth O'Bannon Howell

Funeral service for Velma O'Bannon Howell will be held 1 PM Tuesday, January 12, 2010 in Provencal First Baptist Church with Rev. Weyland Gauntt, Rev. Bruce Mitchell, and Rev. Kevin Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Provencal Cemetery at Provencal, La. under the direction of Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home. Visitation will be Monday, January 11, 2010 from 5 PM until service time on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 in the church. Mrs. Howell, 91, of Provencal, La., died Saturday, January 9, 2010, in her residence at Provencal, La. She was a native of Cypress, La. She was a homemaker and member of Provencal, First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Howell; daughter, Naomi Howell; two sons, Bobby Howell and Vernon Howell; two sisters, Josephine O'Bannon and Dorothy Haley; five brothers, Ruff O'Bannon, Gordon O'Bannon, Minor O'Bannon, Harold O'Bannon, and Lynn O'Bannon; daughter-in-law-Virginia Howell; parents, Randal Gibson O'Bannon and Agnes Roy O'Bannon. She is survived by three daughters, Leona Tolar and husband Buddy, Nelda Cook and husband Gary, Paula Robertson and husband Robert all of Provencal, La.; two sons, Randle Howell and wife Rosalie of Jacksonville, N.C. and Tommy Howell, Sr. and wife Cheryl of Olympia, Wa.; twelve grandchildren, Debbie Hanson, Lori Howell, Randy Howell, Ann Whitehead, Thomas 'Buddy' Howell, Gary Tolar, Beth Gillispie, Tommy Howell, Jr., Bob Howell, Michael Robertson, Cari Robertson, and Ashley Rawls; twenty-two great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Ella Rhodes of Provencal, La. and Cora Wyka of Conroe, Tx.; one brother, Willie O'Bannon of Keithville, La. Pallbearers will be Bill Holland, Gary Tolar, Michael Robertson, Thomas 'Buddy' Howell, Billy R. Howell, and Clint Whitehead.
