Virgie Mae Riles Dees, age 92, of Pace, LA, passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2010, at her home at the Pace Community, LA. Arrangements are being handled by Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA, where the family will receive friends from 5:00 to 9:00 on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 and from 10:00 until service time on Thursday April 01, 2010 at the Christian Harmony Baptist Church in the Pace Community. The funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm on Thursday at the church. Interment will be at Fort Jessup Cemetery in Fort Jessup, LA. Virgie was a very loving and compassionate wife, mother, and grandmother. She spent her life as a homemaker, raising her family and entertaining her grandchildren. She loved to fish and crochet, and would do either whenever she had the chance. In her final days, her main focus was her Christian walk and spending time at church. She was truly a great person and will be missed by all of her family and friends. She was the preceded in death by her 1st husband, William Brown, and her parents, Preston Riles and Mable Morgan Riles. She is survived by her husband James Oliver Dees of Pace, LA; five children, Letha Warren and husband Danny of Natchitoches, LA, Thomas Brown and wife Greta of Marksville, LA, William Brown and wife Cathy of Caster, LA, Monica Aaron and husband Ronnie of Campti, LA, Annette Basco and husband Wilkie of Provencal, LA; 19 Grandchildren; Numerous Great Grandchildren; four sisters, Nancy Rickman of Hamburg, AR, Elizabeth Polinek of Bastrop, LA, Mary Riles of Bastrop, LA, and Marilyn Kowe of Michigan.
