Funeral service for Doyle Ray Carter, Sr. will be held 11 AM Saturday, August 12, 2006 in Blanchard St. Denis Chapel with Rev. Dean Crittenden and Rev. Buck Furlow officiating. Burial will be in Lambertown Cemetery at Robeline, La. Visitation will be Friday, August 11, 2006 from 5 PM until 9 PM and on Saturday, August 12, 2006 from 8 AM until service time in the funeral home. Mr. Carter, 71, of Black Lake, La., died Wednesday, August 9, 2006, in his residence at Black Lake, La. He was a native of Pleasant Hill, La. He was retired from Placid Oil Comapny at Goldonna, La. He was a member of Westwind Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Myra Jane Carter; parents, Charley Bufkin Carter and Lenora Sanders Boyce. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Florence Nelson Carter of Black Lake, La.; three sons, Doyle Ray Carter, Jr. and wife LuAnn of Holly Lake Ranch, Tx., Darryl G Carter and wife Deena of Eagle Creek Ranch, Tx., and Charles Steven Carter, Sr. and wife Christi of Foster, Ok.; grandchildren, Andrea Carter, Abigail Carter, Clayton Carter, Wesley Carter, Eric Carter, Christi Zaruba, Michelle Richards, Steven Carter; great-grandchildren, Shelbi Marie Zaruba, Skye Zaruba, Cayden Zaruba; one sister, Jean Brown of Quitman, Ark.; two brothers, Jerry Carter of Natchitoches, La. and Ronald Carter of Shreveport, La. Pallbearers will be J. W. Vercher, Gary Broadway, Garland Broadway, Wesley Carter, Eric Carter, Steven Carter, and Clayton Carter. Honorary pallbearers will be former employees of Placid Oil Company.
