Funeral service for John Wesley “Junior” Moore will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 11, 2010 in the chapel of Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home with Reverends James Moore and Frank Yount officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Lawn Cemetery, Natchitoches, LA. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Monday, May 10, 2010 at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home.
Mr. Moore, 83 years of age, passed away Saturday, May 8, 2010 in Many, LA. He was born March 21, 1927 to the late John William Moore and late Ella (Bates) Moore in Provencal, LA. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Marvel (Clemmons) Moore and a sister, Gladys Schrump. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He was a master mechanic and retired as an instructor from the Sabine Valley Vo-tech.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Daisy Moore of Many; son, James Moore and his wife Marlene of Lake Charles; Daughters, Melinda Wood and her husband Buddy of Many and Mary Yount and her husband Frank of Fairview Alpha; Brother, Wendell Moore; sisters, Clio Syers and Eurcle Culipher; grandchildren, Sharon Shaw and her husband Matt, Chris Moore, Laura Wood, John Wood, Erin Wood, Chelsey Yount, Joseph Yount, Caleb Yount, Sammy Yount and Teresa Anderson; great grandchildren, Lalaina Wood and Anneliese Mae Shaw.
The family would like to extend a deep appreciation to the staff at Many Healthcare North and Hospice of Many for the care of Mr. John during his illness.
