Funeral service for Velma Wilkerson Jeter will be held 2:30 PM Wednesday, September 27, 2005 in Blanchard St. Denis Chapel with Dr. John Foster officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Methodist Cemetery at Natchitoches, La. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 27, 2006 from 8 AM until service time in the funeral home. Mrs. Jeter, 86, of Natchitoches, La., died Monday, September 25, 2006, at Heritage Manor Rehabilitation and Retirement Center in Natchitoches, La. She was a lifelong resident of Natchitoches, La. She was retired having worked at Northwestern State University and El Camino Motel and was a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Jeter; parents, M. H. 'Bud' Wilkerson and Leola Patch Wilkerson; brothers, J. C. Wilkerson, Ora Wilkerson, Elwood Wilkerson; sister, Averl Wilkerson. She is survived by one sister, Elve Cooper of Natchitoches, La.; four brothers, Otis Wilkerson of Natchitoches, La., Vester Wilkerson of Natchitoches, La., Olan Wilkerson of Natchitoches, La., and Arlie Wilkerson of Oakdale, La. Pallbearers will be Wade Wilkerson, Clint Wilkerson, Mark Wilkerson, Phillip Wilkerson, Barney Ray Cooper, and Dale Cooper.
