Funeral service for Gerald B. 'Jerry' Tucker will be held 3 PM Sunday, Oct. 1, 2006 in Blanchard St. Denis Chapel with Rev. Hyland Packard officiating. Burial will be in Memory Lawn Cemetery at Natchitoches, La. Visitation will be Sunday, Oct. 1, 2006 from 1 PM until service time in the funeral home.
Mr. Tucker, 78, of Natchitoches, La., died Thursday, September 28, 2006, at Natchitoches Nursing and Rehabilitation in Natchitoches, La. He was a native of Springhill, La. He was a retired State Fire Marshall. He formerly was manager of Howard Lumber Company and was in the housing construction business. He was a member of First Baptist Church and The American Legion.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin Franklin Tucker and Clara Tucker; sister, Shirley Fogleman; brother, Reggie Tucker.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Dolores Hall Tucker of Natchitoches, La.; two sons, Stephen Tucker and wife Rosita of Dallas, Texas and Wesley Tucker and wife Ellen of Natchitoches, La.; grandchildren, Lesley Tucker of Natchitoches, La., Miranda Moton and husband Chance of Logansport, La., Alicia Gehrls and husband Brian of Bossier City, La., and Nathan Tucker of Dallas, Tx.; sister, Bonnie Simpson of Phoenix, Az.
Pallbearers will be Charles Huggins, Bob Wangenstein, Tom Portrer, Calvin McFerren, Bert Boyd, and Harold Faust.
