Service for James Jerome Honore, Sr. will be held 10 AM Saturday, October 7, 2006 in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Rev. Harold Imasha officiating. Burial will be in Cloutierville Catholic Cemetery at Cloutierville, La. Visitation will be Friday, October 6, 2006 from 5 PM until 9 PM with a rosary service at 7 PM and on Saturday, October 7, 2006 from 8 AM until 9 AM in the funeral home.
Mr. Honore, 72, of Cloutierville, La., died Sunday, October 1, 2006, at St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital in Houston, Texas
He was a native of Alexandria, La. He was a former resident of Detroit, Mi. where he met and married his beloved wife, Mercie, and raised their children. He was a retired Supervisor for Imerman Industries in Detroit, MI. He fulfilled his dream by retiring and returning to Cane River, La. in May of 2002. He was a member of St. John The Baptist Catholic Church. He was a veteran the U.S. Navy having served in Korea.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Honore and Ruby Rachal Honore; brother, Herman Honore.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Mercie Dee LaCour Honore of Cloutierville, La.; three sons, James Jerome Honore, Jr. of Morristown, Tenn., Mitchel Gerard Honore and wife Carrie Ann of Ferndale, Mich., and Christopher Raymond Honore of Clinton Township, Mich.; one sister, Margie Honore of Alexandria, La.; two brothers, Ovide Honore and wife Naomi of Hope, Ark.and Roman Honore and wife Annie Ruth of Southfield, Mich.
Pallbearers will be Roman Honore, Raymond LaCour, Johnny Ray Byone, Raymond Monette, Allen LaCour, and Willie 'Butch' LaCour.
