Funeral services for Jerry Wallace Kay, Sr. will be Sunday, June 13, 2010 in Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Kevin Taylor officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. service time at Blanchard St. Denis Chapel followed by burial at Provencal Cemetery in Provencal under the direction of Blanchard St. Denis.
Mr. Kay, 69, of Provencal died Friday, June 11, 2010, in the Natchitoches Regional Hospital.
Mr. Kay was born in Provencal, December 4, 1940, to Eli (Nook) Kay and Thelma Turner Kay of Harmony. He was a graduate of Flora High School.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eli (Nook) Kay and Thelma Turner Kay; brothers, Lester and Ronnie Kay.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Ruth Ann Sepulvado Kay; daughter, Sonia Kay of Provencal; Jay Kay and wife, Kelly of Natchitoches; and Ronnie Kay and wife Julieta of Bossier City; one brother Waymon Kay of Bossier City, and one sister, Bonnie Kay of Harmony. Also, nine grandchildren: Sophia Foshee Faro, Josh Foshee, Justin Krouse, McKenzie Kay, Shelby Self, Mason Kay, Catherine Olson, Stephanie Olson, and Jacquelyn Kay, and one great –grandchild, Jesse Olivia Faro; and, three grandchildren of the heart, Stephanie Fair Dyjack, Shanna Fair Dubose, and Eli Hilton Dyjack.
Jerry was a fun loving and caring father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved life and family gatherings. His heart was his family. His Legacy to his children, grandchildren and great-grandchild is love for God, family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Pallbearers will be Mr. Kay’s nephews Mark Kay, Lewis Briley, Matthew Sepulvado, Clark Sepulvado, Jack Lenox and Bruce Dyjack.
Honorary pallbearers are Ronald Roy, Al Ferrier, Kevin Warner and Dewayne Poe.
