Funeral service for Annie Mae Coutee LaCaze will be held 2 PM Monday, October 9, 2006 in Blanchard St. Denis Chapel with Rev. Will Hassan officiating. Burial will be in Weaver Cemetery at Flora, La. Visitation will be Sunday, October 8, 2006 from 5 PM until 9 PM and on Monday, October 9, 2006 from 8 AM until service time in the funeral home.
Mrs. LaCaze, 80, of Cypress, La., died Saturday, October 7, 2006, in her residence at Cypress, La. .
She is a native and lifelong resident of Cypress, La. She is a homemaker.
She is preceded in death by one son, Louis "Buddy" LaCaze; parents, Thomas J. "Shep" Coutee and Julie Rachal Coutee; sisters, Estelle Murry, and Leona Coutee.
She is survived by her husband of sixty-five years, Robert L."R.L." LaCaze of Natchitoches, La.; five daughters, Vergie Ann George and husband Aubrey of Gorum, La., Rita Fay McCallister and husband John of Cypress, La., Carolyn Maxine Prothro and husband Charles of Cypress, La., Charlene "Peanut" Lachney and husband Pete of Natchitoches, La., and Becky Miley and husband Tim of Campti, La.; seven sons, Wayne LaCaze and wife Rose of Marthaville, La., Billy Roy LaCaze and wife Catherine of Red Dirt, La., Van LaCaze and wife Sharon of Flora, La., Riley LaCaze and wife Glenda of Cypress, La., Danny LaCaze and wife Lynn of Belmont, La., Patrick LaCaze and wife Carolyn of Cypress, La., and Mickey LaCaze and wife Angel of Natchitoches, La.; two sisters, Minerva Horn of Keithville, La. and Elsie Basco of Pineville, La.; one brother, Robert H. Coutee of Pineville, La.; twenty grandchildren, Layne LaCaze, James Ray Edwards, Rhonda Barbin, Billy Ray LaCaze, Michael LaCaze, Shane LaCaze, Tina Poche', Christi Sarpy, Cody LaCaze, Brandy Rachal, Todd Rachal, Melissa Scott, Shawn Prothro, Larenda Lachney, Krystal Lachney, Craig Lachney, Haley LaCaze, Jake LaCaze, Casey LaCaze, and Chelsea Osborn and eighteen great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Layne LaCaze, Billy Ray LaCaze, Shane LaCaze, Cody LaCaze, Todd Rachal, Shawn Prothro, Craig Lachney, and James Ray Edwards.
Maw Maw was a very special mother and grandmother and she will always be remembered for her love for her family and her complete devotion to them.
