Funeral service for Mrs. Dorothy Wardlow Gibson will be 2 p.m. Monday, July 12, 2010 in the chapel of Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home with Reverend Barbara Driscoll officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home of Natchitoches. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Sunday, July 11, 2010 at Blanchard St. Denis. Mrs. Gibson passed away Friday, July 9, 2010. She was born January 17, 1918 in Winnfield, LA and was a resident of Montgomery, LA for most of her life. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Merwin Wardlow and second husband W.D. “Hoot” Gibson; and a brother, Jack Sowers. She owned and operated Wardlow Insurance Agency for many years. She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family, playing the piano and she loved to have a good time. Mrs. Dorothy was one of the last true southern belles who believed in gentleness, kindness, and appreciated the beauty of her surroundings. She will be greatly missed by all those who loved her. She is survived by a daughter, Kay Wardlow Foshee and husband Tom of Natchitoches, La.; one son, John Wardlow and wife Celeste of Montgomery, La.; sister, Louise Warner of Plano, TX; four grandchildren, Jeff Foshee, Scott Foshee, Blane Foshee, Leanne Wardlow Foreman; four great grandchildren, Virginia Foshee, Quaid Foshee, Quinton Foshee and Brady Foreman. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Jeff Foshee, Scott Foshee, Blane Foshee, Clay Foreman, Ken Hale and Dr. Greg Brian.
