Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 12, 2010 at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches for Phillip LaCaze, Jr., 76, who passed away on August 8, 2010 at Lafayette General Medical Center.
Burial will take place in Bay Springs Cemetery in Chopin, LA.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home of Lafayette on Tuesday, August 10, 2010 from 3:00 pm until 10:00 pm and continue on Wednesday at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches.
Mr. LaCaze, a resident of Duson, LA, was the son of the late Phillip LaCaze, Sr. of Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana and the former Elma Bebee of Galbraith, Louisiana. He worked for Lafayette General Medical Center in Maintenance for 27 years. He enjoyed his work, as well as his wife, kids, grandkids, and his garden. He was a devoted father, husband and grandfather. He loved being around people. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at Lafayette General Medical Center for their love and support.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Doretha LaCaze of Duson, LA; two daughters, Janet Lopresto and husband Alex of Lafayette, and Beverly Meche of Lafayette; four sons, Rodney LaCaze of Duson, Ricky LaCaze and wife Ladonna of Duson, Rocky LaCaze of Indian Bayou, LA, and Richard LaCaze and wife Kristine of Scott; fourteen grandchildren, Amanda, Jason, Brandon, Tiffany, Chelsea, Meagan, Brittany, Derrick, Morgan, Daniel, Dana, Dustin, Ashley, and Laney; twelve great grandchildren; three sisters, Elvina Coutee, Melba Sue Johnson, and Anna Mae Walker; and one brother, El LaCaze.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Elma Sue LaCaze, and one sister, Pearline Wise.
Pallbearers will be his co-workers that worked with him daily in the maintenance department at Lafayette General Medical Center, Mr. Allen Pourciaux, Mr. Rick Racado, Mr. Brent Broudreaux, Mr. Peter Nelson, Mr. Tom Hebert, and Mr. Ted Breaux.
