John Melvin Corrales Sr. a native of Robeline, LA and a resident of Amelia passed away at his home on Tuesday, September 21, 2010.
John served his country during WWII where he was awarded three service medals. John was always working on some kind of project, whether it was stain glass windows, clocks or even inventing the next best invention that would make life easier. John enjoyed playing cards, traveling or just spending quality time with the grandchildren and great grandchildren. John was an exceptional husband, father and grandfather. He was loved and will be truly missed.
John is survived by his lovely wife, Agnes Corrales of Amelia; two sons: John Corrales Jr. and Doyle Corrales and his wife, Dale of Amelia; three daughters: RoseMary Iskenderun and her husband, John of Natchitoches, Violet Corrales of Amelia and Gloria Beadle and her husband, Ray Jr. of Bayou Vista; three sisters: Mary Flores and her husband, Norbet of Shreveport, Martha LaCaze and her husband, Levy of Natchitoches and Marie Solice of Houston, along with eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny and Flora Corrales; one daughter, Kathy Corrales; two brothers: Tillman and Sherel Corrales and one daughter-in-law, Bobbye Corrales.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at Twin City Funeral Home starting at 6pm until 9pm. Visitation will resume on Thursday, September 23, 2010 at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches beginning at 6pm until 9pm and Friday, September 24, 2010 at 9am until 10am with a service beginning at 10am at the funeral Home. He will be laid to rest in the Memorial Lawn Cemetery following the service.
