Funeral service for John Melvin Guffey, Sr. will be held 10 AM Saturday, November 25, 2006 in Cloutierville Baptist Church with Rev. Thomas Chandy officiating under the directions of Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home of Natchitoches, La.. Burial will be in Basco Cemetery at Flatwoods, La. Visitation will Friday, November 24, 2006 from 1 PM untill service time at 10 AM Saturday, November 25, 2006 in Cloutierville Baptist Churchat Cloutierville, La. Mr. Guffey, 60, of Natchitoches, La., died Tuesday, November 21, 2006, at Louisiana Extended Health Care in Natchitoches, La. He is a native of Gorum, La. He was a retired from Colfax Crisoat Plant in Pineville, La. He was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. He is preceded in death by parents, James Milton Guffey, Sr. and Dezaria Basco Guffey He is survived by his wife, Mary Wall of Natchitoches, La.; two daughters, Elizabeth Guffey of Starks, La. and Marcie Guffey of Alexandria, La.; one son, John Melvin Guffey, Jr. of Starks, La.; two grandchildren; six nephews and four nieces; nine great nieces and nephews; three sisters, Daisy Guffey of Cloutierville, La., Cassie Martin of Gorum, La. and Carolyn Brossett of Dry Prong, La.; three brothers,Milton Guffey and wife Rosemary of Dry Prong, La., Ralph Guffey of Robeline, La., andJ. D. Guffey of Cloutierville, La. Pallbearers will be Patrick Mobley, Carl Lynn Mobley, Ralph Mobley, William Murrell, Tim Bennett, Kim Poche'. Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Harvey and Gordon Mobley.
