Camille S. Gongre
NATCHITOCHES, LA-Camille S. Gongre, a lifelong resident of Natchitoches, La. passed away November 22, 2006 at the age of 87. Visitation will be held from 5-9pm, Sunday, November 26 at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 27 at 10am at Blanchard-St. Denis with Bro. Tommy Rush officiating. Interment will follow in Fern Park Cemetery under the direction of Blanchard-St. Denis.
Mrs. Gongre was born May 20, 1919 in Natchitoches and was a longtime employee of City Bank & Trust, Co.
She is survived by two children, Donna Sue Wirt and husband, Dain of Shreveport, La. and John M. Gongre, Jr. and wife, Margie of Arlington, Tx. ; one sister, Amarylis “Rill” Cedars of Natchitoches, La.; five grandchildren, Dana Pitre (Allen) of Shreveport, La., Dena Salter (Kyle) of Frierson, La., John M. Gongre III of Arlington, Tx., Jason Gongre (Penny) of Canton, Tx.., Jocelyn Greenman (Eric) of Mansfield, Tx.; great-grandchildren, Dain Pitre, Cohen Salter, John IV and Joyce Gongre, Michael and Austin Gongre, Abby and Joshua Greenman,; Five nieces and five nephews, all who held a very special place in her heart and a host of great-nieces and -nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, John Monroe Gongre.
Pallbearers will be her nephews, Wilson “Jiggs” Cedars, Roy Cedars, Winston Cedars, Stacy Cedars and Kerry Gene Cedars and great nephew, Ray LaCaze.
The family wishes to express sincere gratitude to Mrs. Gongre’s extended family and friends, the staff of Heritage Manor Retirement and Rehabilitation Center, Drs. Bryan and Sissy Picou and the staff of the second floor at Natchitoches Regional Medical Center.
