Funeral service for Jeffrey W. Dalton will be at held 11 AM Monday, November 15, 2010 in Blanchard St. Denis Chapel with Rev. Louis E. Sklar officiating. Burial will be in Memory Lawn Cemetery in Natchitoches, La. Visitation will be Sunday, November 14, 2010 from 5 PM until 8 PM and on Monday, November 15, 2010 from 8 AM until service time in the funeral home.
Mr. Dalton, 74, of Natchitoches, La., died Friday, November 12, 2010, in his residence in Natchitoches, La.
He was a native of Trinidad and Venezuela. He was a cattle rancher, businessman and contractor. He attended San Marcos Baptist Military Academy and was a graduate of Campti High School. He graduated from L.S.U. in 1961, where he lettered in track throwing the javelin. He was a member of the L.S.U. Alumni Association and the “L” Club. He was an avid L.S.U. football fan, golfer, and also enjoyed hunting.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard Howard Dalton and Ena Marjorie Lynch Dalton; sister, Peggy Cornish; brother, Dave Dalton.
He is survived by his wife Elizabeth Duncan Dalton of Natchitoches, La.; three daughters, Julianne Dalton and husband David Parker of Panama City Beach, Fl., Joelle Evans and husband Sidney III of Natchitoches, La., and Jaimee Hudson of Ruston, La.; one son, Jeffrey Dalton, Jr. of Provencal, La.; eight grandchildren, Courtney Evans, Laura Leigh Evans, Anne Evans, Camille Parker, Jeffrey Parker, Charlotte Hudson, Thomas Hudson, and William Hudson; one sister, Helen Schlitt and husband John of Vero Beach, Fl.; one brother, Len Dalton and wife Kaye of Campti, La.
Pallbearers will be Dr. Eddie White, Eddie Ahrens, Thomas Arnold, David Fredieu, Sidney Evans III, Wes Hudson, Dave Parker, and Sam Brown.
