Funeral service for Ernestine Armond Russell will be held 1 PM Tuesday, January 2, 2007 in Blanchard St. Denis Chapel with Rev. Wayne Morrow and Rev. James McDonald officiating. Burial will be in Hill Cemetery on Old River near Natchez, La. Visitation will be Monday, January 1, 2007 from 5 PM until 10 PM and on Tuesday, January 2, 2007 from 8 AM until service time in the funeral home.
Mrs. Russell, 93, of Cypress, La., died Saturday, December 30, 2006, at Natchitoches Regional Medical Center in Natchitoches, La.
Ernestine graduated from Flora High School and was a full-time wife and mother. She and Colon reared their family in the community of Good Hope near Cypress where she enjoyed gardening, quilting, sewing, and visiting with family and friends. She was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church and was active in all church activities.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Colon Russell; infant daughter, Maxine Russell; son, Lynwood Russell; parents, Felix Armond and Katherine Vascocu Armond; son-in-law, Ellis Smith; sisters, Lurel Armond Page and Viola Armond Faust.
She is survived by two daughters, Elaine Russell Smith of Montrose, La. and Martha Russell Greer and husband Charlie of Cypress, La.;
one grandson, Clinton Russell Carter of Lafayette, La.; two brothers, Preston Armond of Ruston, La. and Howard Armond of Bossier City, La.
Pallbearers will be W. P. 'Bill' O'Bannon, family friend, Gregory Armond, F. J. Armond, Mike Harrington, Billy Stalnaker all nephews, and Zane Walker family friend.
