Funeral service for Gwendolyn Davis will be held 11 AM Saturday, January 20, 2007 in Blanchard St. Denis Chapel with Rev. Gerald Gant officiating. Burial will be in Lawrence Serenity Cemetery at Natchitoches, La. Visitation will be Friday, January 19, 2007 from 5 PM until 8 PM and on Saturday, January 20 2007 from 8 AM until service time in the funeral home; Mrs. Davis, 54, of Natchitoches, La., died Tuesday, January 16, 2007, at LSU Health Sciences Center Shreveport in Shreveport, La. She was a native and lifelong resident of Natchitoches, La. She was a secretary at Natchitoches-Central High School. She was a member of St. Savior Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her father, Elmore Newson, Jr. She is also survived by her one son, Lonard Davis and wife Danyale of Harrisburg, Pa.; grandchildren, Christian Davis, Ryan Davis, and Sydney Davis; mother, Margaret Dunwar Speight of Natchitoches, La.; one sister, Brenda Joyce Berryman of Natchitoches, La. Pallbearers will be Alex Washington, Zachary West, Ramoned Morrow, Gene Revels, Jr. Jarrad Smith, Sr. and Michael Davis.
